The project presented several challenges:
Stringent Security Standards: The project required compliance with Secured by Design (SBD) standards for external entrance doors.
Thermal Performance: The project demanded a range of U Values, from 1.0 W/m²K, to ensure compliance with thermal performance criteria.
Ventilation Solutions: The architects desired a specific aesthetic for external screens, and a solution for ventilation was required to maintain the desired look.
We undertook a comprehensive review of the project’s specifications and developed a solution that not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations:
1. Secured by Design (SBD) Compliance
Recognising the need for SBD compliance for external entrance doors, we introduced our LPS2081 project. This product has been rigorously tested and certified within the Secured by Design initiative, ensuring the highest standards of security and peace of mind for residents.
2. Thermal Performance
Meeting the project’s diverse U Value requirements (ranging from 1.0 W/m²K) was crucial to ensuring the thermal performance of the external facades. Our experienced team selected and installed the Economy 60 and Janisol product lines, guaranteeing the desired thermal performance without compromising on aesthetics.
3. Ventilation Solutions
To satisfy the project’s unique ventilation requirements while maintaining the architect’s aesthetic vision, we incorporated carefully designed louvres into some of the external screens. This not only met the project’s practical needs but also contributed to the overall look of Fish Island Village.
The project was successfully completed in August 2022, providing the following results:
Enhanced Security: Secured by Design (SBD) compliant entrance doors guarantee the safety and security of residents.
Optimal Thermal Performance: U Values ranging from 1.0 W/m²K ensure compliance with thermal performance standards, contributing to energy efficiency and comfort.
Aesthetic Satisfaction: The use of louvres in external screens satisfied the architect’s vision, balancing functionality with aesthetics.
